NECIC is looking for an experienced Urban Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Urban Farm. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for crop production, greenhouse management, harvest planning, staff supervision, and ensuring our farm continues to provide fresh produce for the GROW by NECIC Store, North End Farmers Market, Food Pharmacy, and community programming.

What You'll Do

• Lead the day-to-day operations of our Urban Farm.
• Plan, plant, cultivate, harvest, and maintain seasonal crops.
• Manage greenhouse production, high tunnels, raised beds, and growing spaces.
• Supervise Farm Associates, interns, volunteers, and youth participants.
• Train staff on safe farming practices and proper equipment use.
• Monitor crop quality, irrigation, pest management, and soil health.
• Coordinate produce for the GROW by NECIC Store, North End Farmers Market, and Food Pharmacy.
• Operate and maintain farm equipment and tools.
• Support community events, educational programming, and farm tours.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on farming or agricultural experience.
• Experience managing crop production from planting through harvest.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of sustainable farming practices, irrigation, and greenhouse operations.
• Experience operating tractors and farm equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work outdoors for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely operate farm machinery and equipment.
